An idle google search discovered these beautiful topaz cufflinks (£37)

Massimo Dutti is a worldwide chain – with a large London branch in Regent Street. From outside, you’d think that suits would be £700+, but you’d be surprised.
I recently bought my wedding suit here – and it was a very reasonable £270. A lilac shirt was similarly reasonable at £42. They also sell jumpers, wonderfully soft leather jackets, shoes and most “smart” clothes and accessories.
They also had a watch at £95 I was very keen on – but I suspect it was quartz, and I am too lazy to get the batteries replaced on quartz watches I currently own!
If it wasn’t for the fact that I have one of the largest t-shirt collections in the UK, there’d be two more making their way into my wardrobe from Urban Outfitters.
One has “True Blue” era Madonna posed in a 1st class stamp style… if you find that hard to imagine remind yourself of the album cover:
+ = T-shirt
The other has the old (early 90s?) MTV UK logo on a vintage slightly distressed t-shirt, ie:

Bailey in New Bond Street has a very good sale on: shirts, trousers, jeans, t-shirts, polo shirts and some very nice coats half price.
Additionally Jake’s (formerly known as Plum) on Berwick Street has their Burlington Argyle-style jumpers half price and very warm Penfield jackets half price too, a bargain at £75.
Some (early) New Year sales I went round today:
- G.Room in Carnaby St, who had Geo F Trumper shaving cream half price.
- Urban Outfitters in Oxford St. / Covent Garden who had Mads Noorgard suit jackets reduced and also a very nice own brand silk scarf half price to £17.50.
- Ted Baker in Covent Garden, which had various reductions on shirts, trousers, suits, etc (unfortunately the very nice leather coat they had in there stayed at £400).
- Muji, Uniqlo, – disappointing.
- Selfridges, John Lewis – too scared to brave the crowds.
Modern Amusement is a label which offers something different to boring high street shops.
Stocked in Urban Outfitters and available online on eBay and at karmaloop.
I am always a sucker for chocolate brown, so a jacket from Fenchurch whose colour is described as “Death By Choc” is always going to catch the eye.
The M Lussan 2 Moleskin Jacket looks great, and in stock in their Covent Garden shop at £100.
superfuture is a site which lists the top shops, bars and hotels in cities like London, New York and Amsterdam…
Lyle and Scott Vintage, a slimmer fit range from Lyle & Scott (go one size up) is very popular at the moment, frequently sported by the likes of the curly haired twat off popworld on T4 (but don’t let that put you off). They have V-neck jumpers (the V shows a little too much cleavage for my liking), polo shirts and this seasons Val Doonican trend, cardigans.
It is stocked by amongst the usual suspects like Urban Outfitters, “Utter Nutter” in Romford, a shop with one of the worst names of all time but which amazingly does not stock “Ralphy” shirts and the like, but has a good range including Franklin Marshall and Paul Frank.
There seem to be a lot of satisfied customers of the Merkur Futur Brushed Steel Razor. The replacement blades are much cheaper than more popular brands too…
UPDATE: I have one now, and it really is a superb shave – and the online service I received from Mankind was superb.
