I saw this book in G.Room recently, it looked fun

2 classic aftershaves recommended in the latest Esquire caught my eye:
Vetiver by Guerlain (1961) and Eau Sauvage by Christian Dior (1966)
Whilst looking for these I found an interesting scent review site: BaseNotes.
I popped into Selfridges and had a quick whiff of these two: I prefer the more citrus-smelling Eau Sauvage and have ordered some from eBay.
U-Boat, an Italian manufacturer of very large (50mm diameter face) watches have released some new automatic watches in their range, considerably more expensive than the old quartz movement ones (of which I own one).
They’re available from WatchUSeek (eventually), but not cheaply. I like the Flightdeck 50 (pictured) & Flightdeck 55 (55mm face!) in anodized steel which work out at 2100 and 2300 Euros respectively.
(Yes, I know this is turning into The Large Watch Blog, but tough).
A web forum devoted to one of my favourite subjects: big watches.
My latest watch was a £75 purchase from eBay, a Seiko SKX031. It’s an automatic, which is great for people (like me) who are too lazy to change the battery and consequently have a pile of stopped watches sitting on the side.
I got the strap adjusted at a great little jeweller’s in Shaftesbury Avenue, Mr. Chan’s. Mr Chan himself is very knowledgeable about watches, and identified my 1970 Rolex Airking as I walked in (he even pointed out it didn’t have its original strap)!
Getting a wallet in a colour other than brown or black is difficult, unless you’re willing to pay Paul Smith prices.
Aspinal of London have some more interesting colours, including Amethyst, currently at £45.
I’ve been eyeing this Karate Kid t-shirt in Urban Outfitters, but it is £39… only $35 online (+ $23 shipping, erk).
Imaginary Foundation has a beautiful new t-shirt “The Future is Unwritten” ($30)
A very large watch that I like: Omega Railmaster XXL; a mere £1,466.00 from BlitzWatches.co.uk.
More flashy cufflinks on eBay for £35. I recommend wearing these with either a white or dark blue shirt 😉
